BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner said a BRPD stun gun was not the reason a Zachary man died back in June.
Dr. Beau Clark said 32-year-old Kevin Bajoie died as a result of the drugs in his system. He said the tasing had no effect on Bajoie's death.
Bajoie went into cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital after an incident involving Baton Rouge police.
Officers say they had to tase him after Bajoie allegedly tried to attack them at an apartment complex during a call on Saturday, June 20.
The coroner could not determine Bajoie's cause of death in June and additional toxicology work was done.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said the two officers involved are expected to return to work. They were placed on paid leave while the incident was investigated.
