Ultra light plane crashes in St. Amant community

ST. AMANT, LA (WAFB) -

A pilot is in the hospital after the ultra light plane they were piloting fell out of the sky.

Witnesses say both plane and pilot fell over 100 feet to the ground. First responders with the St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department dispatched to the scene on Weber City Road say that the pilot's injuries are "Moderate". The pilot was airlifted to an area hospital.

The name of the pilot is being withheld until family members are notified, but the investigation is still underway.
