Early morning house fires believed to be arson

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The Baton Rouge Fire Department is investigating two separate fires that took place at vacant homes Saturday morning, both fires are believed to be the work of an arsonist.  

The first fire happened at a house in the 5300 block of Peerless Street just after 5:00 am. A second fire was reported at another home in the 600 block of South 14th Street just after 6:00 am. The homes were fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene, both are considered total losses.
