BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Indoor trampoline parks are popping up in cities across the country and now two facilities are operating in Baton Rouge.
Area 51 Extreme Air Sports and Skyzone Baton Rouge both opened within the year, offering people around the capital city the chance to experience the increasingly popular trend.
"It's a unique place with unique fun and so far we think Baton Rouge is really enjoying it so far," said Aaron Tucker with Area 51. "It's an alternative from what people are used to. It's an indoor place, away from the heat and humidity where people can come and enjoy jumping."
Area 51 features trampolines, foam pits, trapeze and rope jumps, a rock wall and areas for jump basketball and dodgeball. They have recently added fitness classes three days a week, offering participants an hour long class led by an instructor.
"This is something you usually see somewhere else," said Area 51's Herbert Sterling. "We're so used to seeing the same old things, skating, bowling, movies, the mall, but this adds a different twist to everyday life here."
Area 51 is located behind the Dick's Sporting Goods near the Mall of Louisiana. Skyzone is located on Industriplex.
