BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Utility regulators have agreed to merge two Entergy units.
The Public Service Commission approved the consolidation of Entergy Louisiana and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana into one company. The utility company will be called Entergy Louisiana.
The merger is set to take effect in October and as a result, the average customer could save $11 over the first year.
The company says the merger will not force any layoffs.
