BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Firefighters are investigating a fire at a vacant home that they suspect may be the work of an arsonist.
According to a release, firefighters were called to a fire in the 2900 block of Hiawatha Street just after 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.
When firefighters arrived at the vacant home, they realized that the fire was the work of an arsonist. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly.
Firefighters were then called out to another fire at the same address. The cause of the second fire is undetermined and still under investigation.
Damages from the first fire were estimated to be $10,000. The second fire is estimated to have caused another $6,000 in damages.
