Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal orders flags at half staff for LSP Tpr. Steven Vincent

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - On Monday morning, Governor Bobby Jindal issued the following statement on the passing of Trooper Steven Vincent. The governor also issued an Executive Order calling for the flags at all state buildings to be flown at half staff until Friday, August 28 for the passing of Trooper Steven Vincent.

"Supriya and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Trooper Steven Vincent. Steven was an honorable husband, father and State Trooper who courageously served our state for over a decade," said Governor Jindal in a statement Monday. "Brave men and women like Steven put their lives in danger every day to protect our families, and we are extremely grateful to them for keeping us safe.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Steven's family and all of our law enforcement members as we mourn this tragic loss."

On Sunday, August 23, 2015, Senior Trooper Steven Vincent of the Louisiana State Police was shot in the line of duty while attempting to provide assistance to an impaired driver.
