BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A former Sorrento and Gonzales police officer had until 4 p.m. Friday to report to the Ascension Parish Prison after being convicted of indecent behavior with a juvenile on Thursday.

Owen Ockman Jr., 35, molested a teen girl for four years while she was in high school and he was a police officer.

Ockman testified Thursday it was the first time he had ever been accused of inappropriate touching, however, prosecutors say another girl made the same claims years ago.

The jury took a little over two hours to reach the verdict.

Ockman posted a $75,000 post conviction bond and will be sentenced on November 16. The judge added a bail restriction that Ockman not contact the victim or any member of her family.

He faces up to seven years in jail.
