BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man has been arrested after he was accused of raping a 14-year-old who was spending the night at a friend's house.
The alleged rape happened in April 2015.
The warrant for arrest says 22-year-old Sombay Santonio Smith walked into the apartment and asked the teen how old she was. She replied "almost 15," and Smith said "how cute." About three hours later, Smith came back to the apartment and went into the bedroom where the teen was sleeping.
The warrant states Smith pinned down the teen's wrists and raped her. Smith then heard a noise and quickly jumped up and left the room.
When the child's mother confronted Smith, he allegedly admitted to her that he had sexual intercourse with the teen, but said he didn't know how old she was.
Smith was arrested and charged with forcible rape. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.
