BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Four people were arrested on gun and drug charges after a two-month investigation from the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.

APSO detectives brought their investigation to a head when they executed a search warrant at a home on Bourgeois Road home in Gonzales. Authorities seized about 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine, marijuana, ecstasy, a record of drug transactions, and paraphernalia.

Detectives also seized almost $2,000 in cash, two vehicles, three handguns, one rifle, and one shotgun. Two of the three handguns were reported stolen.

31-year-old Denise Alvarez, 30-year-old Quinton Hall, 27-year-old Kevin Purdue, and 31-year-old Shannon Covington were all arrested possession with intent to distribute various drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Alvarez and Covington were charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm.

All suspects were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and are awaiting bond.
