Police search for 2 more people of interest in deadly drive-by shooting

THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) -

Detectives with Thibodaux Police are searching for two more people connected to a deadly drive-by shooting last month in Thibodaux on Sanders Street near the St. Charles Manor Apartments.

Officers say 23-year-old Cedrick Banks and 23-year-old Kenya Patterson are considered persons of interest in the shooting that happened in the 200 block of Sanders Street.

Derrick Reed, 34, was shot multiple times in the head and died at the hospital. Two other victims were shot and are reportedly in stable condition.

Kenya Patterson is around 5’11” and 175 pounds, and Cedrick Banks around 5’9” and 155 pounds.

Brian Gibson, 22, was arrested and is being held on one charge of second degree murder and five counts of attempted second degree murder.

Police obtained arrest warrants for both Gibson and his alleged accomplice, Jordan Williams, after the murder of Derrick Reed.

Jordan is still wanted in connection to this murder.
