BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities said bond has been set at $10,000 for a teen accused of bringing a gun to school.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Prison reported Owen Galo, 17, was booked on charges of illegal carrying of a weapon on school property and obliterated serial number.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported a loaded .380 handgun was found in Galo’s backpack at McKinley High on Tuesday.

Deputies said Galo got into a fight with another student at a bus stop. They added once the students got to campus, administrators searched both of their backpacks and a gun was found inside Galo’s.

Investigators said Galo told them he didn’t know where the gun came from.
