BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Lafayette Police have arrested one man and are seeking another for allegedly beating up and robbing another man on Friday, August 14 around 9:30 p.m. at the Kleiser Chevron gas station on East Gloria Switch Road.
25-year-old Dustin Frances, of Lafayette, was arrested for second degree robbery on Tuesday. A warrant has been issued for 18-year-old Keri Bruno Jr., of Lafayette.
According to the victim, as he walked down the street he noticed two men following him so he sat on a bench where he thought he was visible to the cameras at the business. Police reports say the two suspects demanded money from the victim and then punched him repeatedly in the face and body.
The video shows the two suspects reached into the victim's pockets and removed his wallet containing more than $500. Mobile users, click here to watch the video.
Later, the two men appeared to hit the man across the head with a gasoline nozzle. After the men left the scene, video shows him sitting on the stoop near the front door of the service station with blood dripping from his nose. The victim was taken to a hospital with fractured teeth and bones.
Detectives are asking anyone with information of Bruno's whereabouts to call Lafayette Police or Crime stoppers at 337-232-8477.
