SHREVEPORT, LA (WAFB) - Friends of the Shreveport officer killed in the line of duty on August 5, 2015 have come up with a way to honor him and help his family.
LaValley grew up in Ascension Parish and was working in Shreveport when police say he was shot and killed by 27-year-old Grover Cannon.
Following LaValley's death, some who knew him best launched a t-shirt fundraiser online. So far they have raised more than $8,200 and there is more than a week left in the campaign.
For those who would like to share their support to LaValley's family, go to www.booster.com/thomaslavalley.
The shirts are $20 each and the proceeds will go to Thomas' mother Jacqueline Ann LeBeau. A long-sleeved shirt is also available.
