BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A local group known for taking the public's concerns before politicians is launching a new campaign aimed at candidates running for political office.
Together Baton Rouge had lunch on Tuesday with an estimated 40 religious and community leaders to discuss an initiative called The Voice of Our People.
It comes in the form of a single-page survey that will be circulated to as many people possible. It includes questions about healthcare, education, transportation and more.
"We are hoping for 20,000 people to fill out the survey about the issues that are important to them and our community, and in our city and our state so that their voices can be part of setting the goals and priorities for Together Baton Rouge," said Patti Snyder, a pastor at University Presbyterian Church.
Organizers plan to take the responses to all candidates running for public office this fall.
