NEW ORLEANS, LA -

The New Orleans Saints announced several roster moves on Tuesday.

The team has signed linebackers Justin Anderson and Chris Young, defensive tackle Austin Brown and tight end Michael Egnew and waived/injured defensive tackle Lawrence Virgil, waived long snapper Chris Highland and wide receiver Kyle Prater and terminated the contract of tight end Alex Smith.

Anderson played his collegiate football at UL-Lafayette and was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Anderson has also had stops at Minnesota and Dallas.

Young was signed by the Houston Texans following the 2014 draft. As a senior at Arizona State he earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors, when he made a team-high 112 tackles, 17.5 for a loss and 7.5 sacks.

Brown signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Miami (Ohio) in 2014, but was waived at the end of training camp and spent the season out of football.

Egnew played four years at Missouri before being drafted in the third round by the Miami Dolphins in the 2012 NFL draft. Egnew has also played with Detroit, Jacksonville and Pittsburgh.
