Police seek armed carjacking suspects in St. Mary Parish

ST. MARY PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for two suspects who were involved in an armed robbery of a vehicle Saturday night.  

Around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, August 15, two suspects approached a woman who was inside her car parked outside a home in the 100 block of Mercury Road in Bayou Vista, according to police. One suspect aimed a gun at the victim until she exited the vehicle and ran inside to call police. She was not injured

The two suspects stole the vehicle and drove away. Deputies were on the lookout for the vehicle and one spotted a car matching the description driving on Main Street in Franklin on Sunday, August 16 around 9:30 p.m. The deputy attempted to pull the car over as part of a traffic stop. The driver pulled into a driveway on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and left the car with two other suspects on foot. 

The stolen car was recovered by deputies.
