BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The debate over a controversial barge cleaning facility in Baton Rouge is expected to continue next week.
On Monday, The East Baton Rouge Planning and Zoning Commission will discuss if it's possible to rezone the area currently being eyed for the project.
If the commission signs off on it, the Metro Council is expected to vote on Wednesday to rezone that area so the cleaning facility can't be built there.
In the meantime, the Environmental Protection Agency is expected to hold its first public meeting about the project Tuesday. The meeting was originally postponed at the request of city leaders.
