BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police's body cam program is facing delays that could push the initiative back until November.
The program was delayed for a number of reasons, from funding issues to questions about video storage. The Metro Council formed a committee to fast track the project, and BRPD will start with 100 cameras, and build from there.
Councilwoman Denise Marcelle says that she is happy with the progress, but would like to see the city's entire police force wearing cameras sooner rather than later.
The body cam committee will have its first meeting at the end of September.
