Monument Ceremony Planned at Fort Polk

FORT POLK, La. (AP) - A monument to the troopers and families of the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment (Light) will be dedicated during a ceremony on Thursday at Fort Polk.

Brigadier General Michael D. Barbero, commander of the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk, is hosting the event at 5th Infantry Division Memorial Park.

The monument marks the service and support of the 2nd ACR as its tour of duty at Fort Polk comes to an end. The regiment came to Fort Polk from Fort Lewis in the early 1990s.
