BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A well-known Baton Rouge singer and community leader will soon be laid to rest.
Earl T. Taylor was best known for performing at Bill Clinton's inauguration in 1993. He made a number of other television and
movie appearances as well.
Family members said Taylor died from complications of cancer Wednesday.
Taylor performed for nearly 60 years at Mount Zion First Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.
"He loved family, he loved Baton Rouge and the community," Taylor's daughter, Eileen Taylor said.
She tells 9News "visitation and sharing" will be Monday night from 6 to 8 pm at Mount Zion First Baptist Church on East Boulevard. It will continue Tuesday morning from 8 to 10:45 am. Funeral services will follow.
Earl T. Taylor is survived by his wife of 55 years. He also leaves behind five children and nine grandchildren. He was 80 years old.
