Detectives: Drug search at home yields meth, cocaine, and more, 6 arrested

GEISMAR, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities said the search of a home where illegal drugs were allegedly being sold resulted in the arrests of six people on drug and weapons charges.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office reported they investigated Travis Darville, 39, of Geismar, for about a month before executing a search warrant at his home. Detectives raided the house Tuesday while Darville was there. They said meth, cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana was found inside. They added a gun and $4,000 in cash was also seized. Sheriff Jeff Wiley said Darville and five other adults were arrested.

Darville is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of MDMA, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal carrying of weapons and possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor. His bond was set at $55,639.

Chaise Curtis, 32, who shares the home with Darville, was booked on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal carrying of weapons and possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor. Her bond was set at $55,933.

Frank Rios, 50, who lives down the street, faces charges of possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and active warrants for contempt of court. His bond was set at $21,089.

Melanie Marchand, 41, of Baton Rouge, was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $11,089.

Curtis Cryer, 55, of Prairieville, was taken into custody on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and an active warrant for contempt of court. His bond was set at $5,334.50.

Darion Henderson, 19, of Baton Rouge, is charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $1,089.

Wiley added there were also two boys and a girl in the home at the time of the search. Their names were not released because of their ages. Each was issued a summons and released to a parent.

The investigation is ongoing.
