10 arrested in undercover narcotics operation

ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

A two-month undercover operation in Ascension Parish resulted in 10 people arrested and two wanted on a variety of drug and weapons charges.

On Tuesday, August 4, narcotics detectives successfully executed the roundup and arrested the following individuals:

Phillip Sanders, 37, of Prairieville, was located at his residence and arrested on the following charges: distribution of heroin, distribution of cocaine, possession of schedule III CDS, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm, and illegal carrying of weapons. Sanders was also arrested on active warrants for distribution in an unrelated case. This is Sander’s fifth arrest on drug charges. He has been previously arrested for numerous felonies, including assault by drive by, aggravated battery and domestic abuse battery.

Patrick Williams, 41, of Prairieville, was also located at Sanders’ residence and fled from detectives. He was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. He was arrested on the following charges: principle to distribution of heroin, possession with the intent to distribute a schedule II CDS, trespassing, resisting an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia. This is Williams’ seventh arrest on drug charges. He has been previously arrested for numerous battery and assault charges.

Marty Mayers, Jr., 38, of Geismar and Brandy Gros, 35, of Prairieville, were also located at Sanders’ residence. Gros was arrested on charges with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. This is Gros’ third arrest on drug charges. Mayers was arrested on an active warrant for contempt of court. He has been previously arrested on battery and burglary charges.

Kimothy Batiste, 47, of Prairieville, on charges of distribution of oxycodone and an active warrant for contempt of court. This is Batiste’s fourth arrest on drug charges.

Dwayne Junior, 45, of Donaldsonville, on charges of distribution of cocaine. This is Junior’s fifth arrest on drug charges. He has been previously arrested for numerous felonies, including attempted second degree murder and burglary charges.

James Miles, 37, of Donaldsonville, on charges of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, hydrocodone and marijuana. He has been previously arrested on drugs, weapons, and battery charges.

Eldgric Stewart, 39, of Prairieville, on charges of distribution of oxycodone. This is Stewart’s sixth arrest on drug charges.

Craig Encalade, 29, of Prairieville, on charges of distribution of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. This is Encalade’s seventh arrest on drug charges. He has been previously arrested on battery charges.

Angelisse Papizan, 21, also of 15051 Sweet Pecan Ave. in Prairieville, on charges of distribution of heroin. She has been previously arrested on theft charges.

Gabriel Henry, 34, of Donaldsonville, and Jimmy Lee Westley, 48, of Donaldsonville, remain at large. Henry is wanted for distribution of marijuana and Westley is wanted for distribution of cocaine.

No bond has been set at this time.

Sheriff Wiley added: "Every one of these individuals bears the mark of a repeat offender. I look forward to a swift prosecution and substantial sentences in these cases."
