Husband, wife and dog found dead in apparent murder-suicide in Labadieville

LABADIEVILLE, LA (WAFB) - The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Labadieville.

According to police, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Assumption Parish Communications Division received a call from a business in Thibodaux worried about the welfare of an employee who had not shown up for work.

When deputies arrived at the home in the 2700 block of Highway 308 to perform a welfare check, they discovered the bodies of a wife, 41-year-old Leigh Bourgeois, her husband, 42-year-old Jamie Bourgeois, and their dog. It appears that they all died from gunshot wounds.
