Man wanted by BRPD for robbing Family Dollar on Florida

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge police are looking for a man who robbed a store last week.

Around 10:40 a.m. on July 31, the suspect attempted to rob the Family Dollar on Florida Blvd. He went to the counter with some merchandise and demanded money from the register as he was being checked out.

Police say the man pulled out a metal pipe and hit the employee over the head, after they refused to give him money.

The man left after the alarm was activated, getting away with some merchandise. According to police, the employee refused medical treatment.

The suspect is a dark-skinned black male, wearing a black hat, shirt and pants with white tennis shoes. He is about 5'10" and weighs 200 pounds.
