BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Hollywood star took some time out of his filming schedule today to deliver a message to area leaders.
Denzel Washington took a break from shooting the movie Magnificent Seven in order to speak to the Greater Baton Rouge Boys and Girls Club.
The actor says Baton Rouge is the largest city without a stand alone Boys and Girls club. He encouraged leaders to change that.
"These children, they rely on us. How could it not be? It's the most important thing. I'm working in Jackson, and I worked in St. Francisville right near Angola. Every day I pass Dixon Correctional Facility. If we don't invest now, we will be investing later."
Magnificent Seven will be a remake of a 1960s movie with the same title with a tentative release date of 2017.
