TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police arrested a woman after she hit and killed two pedestrians in Tangipahoa Parish early Saturday morning.
According to State Troopers, just before 4 a.m. two women, 32-year-old Charlotte Woods and 28-year-old Angel Simmons Gill, were walking in the center of the eastbound travel lane of LA 1062 when they were struck by an eastbound vehicle.
State Troopers say the driver, 26-year-old Katy Robertson, left the scene, contacted a friend and told them that she had gotten into an accident with a deer. When Robertson and her friend returned to the scene, they found the bodies of Ross and Gill in the road. Both Ross and Gill were pronounced dead on the scene.
Robertson was arrested under suspicion of DWI and submitted to a breathalyzer test. Results showed her blood alcohol level was .135.
Robertson was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Prison where she was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.
