BAKER, LA (WAFB) - The FBI is investigating the Baker school thefts that the Investigators dug in March 2015.
Emmitt Whitfield, who was the maintenance supervisor at the Baker School System, was arrested three times. He is accused of using the school credit card to allegedly rack up $132, 000 worth of purchases over three years. Investigators believe many of those items were pawned off.
Now, officials say the FBI is investigating because schools get federal grants for funding. Baker Police believe the FBI is looking into whether Whitfield misused any federal dollars.
The Baker Police also say their investigation is still ongoing.
