BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A global chemical company helped an effort to give school uniforms to kids.
The Albermarle Corporation gave $25,000 to St. Vincent DePaul on Thursday in honor of the Uniforms for Kids drive. The program ensures that children get the uniforms they need to start the school year off.
"We believe in nurturing the communities in which we live in and operate," says Albermarle representative Sandra Holub. "There is no population more vulnerable than children, and it really fits in with the mission that we have with the Albermarle foundation."
The donation brings the total to nearly 18,000 uniforms. Anyone looking to help can drop off uniforms at any Keans, or by donating by texting the word Uniforms to 99009.
