BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Two are behind bars after allegedly cashing bogus checks at a Baton Rouge credit union.

Jontell Poole, 32, and Geneal Shavers, 39, were arrested after they allegedly deposited three checks worth about $1350 at the Pelican State Credit Union. Those checks were written from Poole's closed Chase Bank account, according to Baton Rouge Police.

Authorities say that Poole and Shavers immediately withdrew the funds before the credit union realized that the Chase Bank account did not have enough money to support the withdrawl.
