BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A woman who allegedly said, "I'm going to shoot somebody," to a worker at a Baton Rouge movie theater on Saturday was arrested on terrorizing and other charges.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported Gaynell Haydel, 27, was booked on charges of terrorizing, disturbing the peace and resisting an officer. Her bond was set at $6,000.
The probable cause report stated the incident happened at the Cinemark Movie Theater on Perkins Road just before 10 p.m. It was noted there was extra security following the deadly theater shooting in Lafayette.
Investigators said Haydel repeatedly made the statement to the worker and added it is believed it was done to scare people. Authorities said some people were in fear of harm and left the theater.
The arresting deputy reported he told Haydel she would have to leave the theater and she was given her money back. The deputy said once outside, Haydel refused to give him her identification and tried to break away while he was trying to handcuff her.
"Devil Dog, you better stand down," the deputy said Haydel told him before allegedly pushing him.
The report stated the deputy took Haydel to the ground and handcuffed her.
"Ms. Haydel could not give me a reason for her actions," the deputy reported.
As of Monday morning, she remained in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
