Tax incentive for new Downtown Baton Rouge hotel fails

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Metro Council voted against a tax incentive for a new Downtown hotel Wednesday night.

The Marriott Courtyard set to be built on the parking lot at Third Street and Florida did not get the green light from the council.

It is the first time the council has rejected an incentive like this one since 2005 when they approved it for the Hilton.
