BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The Salvation Army of Baton Rouge celebrated its 110th anniversary with a proclamation with Mayor Kip Holden.

July 2 marked the 150th anniversary of the Salvation Army and the 110th year that the charity has been in Baton Rouge.

To celebrate, those enrolled in the Corps Salvage Recovery Center enjoyed a hot lunch with the commanding officers Brett and Mary Meredith and Mayor Kip Holden.

The Salvation Army of Greater Baton Rouge provided Christmas gifts to 1,500 families, and sent 75 children to summer camp this past year.
