LSU students help ring closing bell at NYSE

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Three LSU students have been chosen to help ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange Wednesday.

Daniel Wendt, Madison Nixon and Christian Vardaman are among a dozen winners of TD Ameritrade's NextGen scholarship competition.

Winners each get a $5,000 scholarship, a trip to New York City, a tour of the exchange, and the opportunity to take part in the closing bell event.

All three LSU students are from the E.J. Ourso College of Business.

21-year-old Wendt, a graduate of Denham Springs High School, is studying finance at LSU and plans to become a personal financial planner after graduation.

Nixon and Vardaman, both seniors, are also studying finance at LSU.
