Man and teen face meth, heroin, other charges

GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - A man and teen were arrested Thursday morning on drug possession charges involving meth and heroin.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported Fabian Mills, 40, of Gonzales, also faces illegal possession of stolen firearms charges. The 16-year-old's name was not released.

Mills was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of heroin, possession of Schedule II CDS (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia/prohibited acts, two counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms, illegal carrying of weapons and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. His bond was set at $126,089.

The teen was placed in the Assumption Detention Center on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

Deputies said the investigation began after a woman reported Mills went to her home looking for her son. They added she said Mills claimed her son had stolen $5,000 worth of heroin and a gun from him.

According to reports, the woman said Mills pointed a gun at her and threatened to shoot her. APSO reported deputies found Mills at his home and a teen runaway from Livingston Parish was also there.

Sheriff Jeff Wiley said a search of the home turned up methamphetamine, heroin, drug paraphernalia and four guns, two of which were reported stolen. He added deputies also found clothes with tags still on them that may have been stolen from a store in the area.
