Deputies search for man who burglarized 17 vehicles in 6 hours

BERWICK, LA (WAFB) - Officers with the Berwick Police Department in St. Mary Parish are searching for a man who was caught on surveillance breaking into vehicles.

Police say 17 vehicles were broken in to between midnight and 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, The burglaries happened in the area of the 3500 block of Highway 182 in Berwick.

The man is seen on surveillance video rummaging through unlocked vehicles, stealing money and other items.

Anyone with information on the suspect's identity, the suspect vehicle, or on the crimes is encouraged to contact the Berwick Police Department at 985-384-7710 or the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office at 985-384-1622.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reminds everyone to keep their vehicles locked at all times.
