BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The 10-31 Consortium is the sponsor of Baton Rouge's newest parade, the Halloween Parade. Saturday July 25th, the Consortium continues its tradition of partying to announce plans for the upcoming Halloween parade.
The Bash will announce the Consortium's plans for the year. It raises money for Our lady of the Lake Children's Hospital and collects food for Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. The Consortium's collection of Halloween costumes for the children of Big Buddy is a treasured community service project.
Now about that party, the Bash, you will need to wear Orange and Black. But the way you wear it is up to you. Costumes are encouraged, and there will be awards for "Best Dressed Male" and "Best Dressed Female." You're asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank and a child's costume to donate at the door.
The event kicks off the 10-31's Halloween "season." Besides delicious eats, a cash bar and silent auction, there will be a little business at hand. The theme for the 2015 parade will be announced. They will also unveil the Grand Marshal for the parade, plans for the royal coronation, plans for the Ghostly Gala which is the Consortium's big dance. They will elect board members, and present some organizational awards.
