DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - Maggie, the dog that was found with a jar stuck on its head, has made a nearly full recovery.
The SPCA of Livingston has been working with Maggie for the last two weeks and now they say it's time for her to find her forever home after some great work by volunteers.
"We got the jar off the head and really gave her some immediate trauma treatment and then she was transferred to another hospital and was kept there just with intensive care, fluids, love," said Sarah Edwards with the SPCA.
The SPCA said Maggie is about a year and a half old. She has been spayed, weighs about 20 pounds, is heartworm negative and is current on her vaccinations.
The SPCA has some requests of those who would like to adopted Maggie. They hope to place her in a home with older children as she "is shy and can be slow to warm up." They say a fenced yard is mandatory for anyone wanting to adopt Maggie, and she would be an indoor dog, only let outside "to play and go to the bathroom."
For more information, any one interested in adopting Maggie can email the SPCA at email@example.com.
