BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Mayor Kip Holden introduced a new round of volunteers working in the Baton Rouge communities for the week of July 13.
97 volunteers from the World Changers organization will be in the city working. They will spend time around the Gus Young community working to beautify streets and homes.
The volunteers are also working with fire and police departments to make sure homes are up to date with working safety equipment.
"It's just a blessing, for the young people to give up their summer and to be able to come and do for us that really needs their help," said Gus Young resident Olevia Albert.
Volunteers with World Changers worked in more than 200 cities across the country for the week of July 13.
