BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Thursday afternoon camp robbery in Assumption Parish lands two in jail on Thursday.
Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack says that officials received a call about a suspicious vehicle driving in strange patterns in a Belle River subdivision at about 1:45 p.m. on Thursday. After arriving on scene, neighbors in the area told officers about an open door to a residence in the 600 block of Michel Road.
As officers entered the camp, they found and arrested 25-year-old Pierre Part resident Garrett Dugas hiding behind a bathroom door. The driver of the suspicious truck, 23-year-old Pierre Part resident Tanner Rivere, was found a short time later. The APSO says that he was stopped and arrested after he was interviewed by detectives
Dugas and Rivere were booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a $50,000 bond. They were both charged with Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling.
