BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Barbie took the plunge Friday at an event put on for by ExxonMobil for Baton Rouge teachers.
It was held at Capital Middle School.
The Barbie doll bungee is meant to teach math concepts.
It's an interactive lesson promoted by the National Math and Science Initiative.
"Trying to give them typical lessons that they would normally use in a classroom and extend it in a way where it'll be relevant to not only them but their students," Gregg Fleischer with the National Math and Science Initiative said. "And, it's going to be fun."
More than 350 middle and high school teachers from East Baton Rouge Parish schools attended the event.
It was all possible because of a $275,000 grant from ExxonMobil to the foundation for the East Baton Rouge School System.
