BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A suspect in a 2014 murder has turned himself in, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

23-year-old Brian Hines Jr. turned himself in to police for the murder of 23-year-old Marqius Wyatt.

Wyatt was shot and killed just before midnight on October 1, 2014 in the 4100 block of Cannon Street. He died at the scene from multiple gun shot wounds to his chest.

Police received additional details throughout their investigation that led to Hines’ arrest. Still no word on the motive behind Wyatt's murder.

He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with second degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm, and illegal use of a dangerous weapon.

The arrest comes two weeks after a Crime Stoppers story about Wyatt’s murder.
