BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Capitol Area Corporate Recycling Council is beginning a program which hopes to see every child going to EBR public schools owning a laptop.
The council is kicking off their "Laptops for Kids" program because they say that access to a computer is an integral part of education today. The laptops cost $125 and come with a one year warrantee.
To qualify for the program, applicants must provide documentation like a report card or school ID to prove that their child goes to an EBR public school. Laptops can be picked up at the CACRC headquarters at 1400 Main Street in Baton Rouge. Donations for the event can be dropped off at the CACRC headquarters as well.
More information about the event can be found by visiting the CACRC's Facebook page HERE, or by calling their offices at 225-379-3577.
