Baton Rouge company offers reward for equipment stolen

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A local company is offering a reward for the return of a piece of equipment that was stolen last week.

According to police, the piece of equipment was stolen from a dark gray Toyota Tundra on July 2 at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Holloway Avenue near College Drive.

The piece of equipment that was stolen was a portable moisture-density gauge. The gauge is transported in a yellow rectangular case with distinctive markings on it. It is a Troxler model 3430 with the serial number 25402.

The company is offering a $2000 reward for anyone who can locate or return the gauge undamaged.

"It's very rare this item gets stolen. It's very important we get it back," says a company spokesperson. "We're not looking to prosecute. We just want to get the item back. If they bring it back we're willing to give them a reward."

Anyone who sees the gauge or knows anything about the theft is asked to call the Baton Rouge Police Department at 225-389-3863, the Department of Environmental Quality at 225-614-7602 or company staff at 225-253-3017.
