SCOTLANDVILLE, LA (WAFB) - Southern University Hall of Famer Eric Randall tells 9Sports he has written his letter of resignation and is stepping down as Scotlandville's football coach.
The former Jaguars quarterback led the Hornets to playoff appearances in all three seasons at the school, including back-to-back quarterfinals appearances the last two years in Division I and Class 5A.
Randall said he's taking an administrative post in the Baker School System as an assistant principal and could wind up also serving as an assistant coach with the Buffaloes' program.
The Glen Oaks graduate just lost his brother Marcus Randall off the Hornets staff, when the former LSU quarterback took over as Southern Lab's head coach.
Eric Randall has also served as the Kittens head coach and an assistant principal at Baton Rouge High. Randall said he still plans to serve as the sideline reporter for Southern football radio broadcasts in the fall.
