BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - One of the world's biggest players in the industrial services segment is moving its corporate headquarters to Baton Rouge.
Andy Dupuy, CEO of Brown and Root, announced Monday that the company will move its headquarters from Houston to Baton Rouge. It will be located at Citiplace on Corporate Boulevard.
The company will send 25 executives to Baton Rouge by the end of the year, with an additional 25 moving by the end of 2016.
Louisiana Economic Development reportedly estimates another 72 new indirect jobs in Baton Rouge will result from the move.
The company recently acquired Wink Engineering, which employs 325 Louisiana workers in Baton Rouge, Mandeville and St. Rose.
The company added it will create another 550 industrial jobs in Louisiana over the next decade.
Brown and Root employs more than 6,000 workers worldwide.
