LSU freshman Ben Simmons is ranked the No. 2 NBA draft prospect for 2016 by Sports Illustrated's David Gardner.
Gardner says, "Simmons has experience playing all five positions and has the ballhandling to prove it. At 6’10” and 225 (and counting) pounds, he’ll be a matchup problem for almost every opponent in the SEC."
Only Kentucky freshman Skal Labissiere is ranked ahead of Simmons.
Simmons averaged 28 points and 11.9 rebounds as a senior for Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida.
The nation's No. 1 recruit registered 24 double-doubles on the season all while maintaining a 3.48 in the classroom.
Simmons was named the Naismith Trophy Boy's High School Player of the Year, the Morgan Wootten Award as the top McDonald's All-American in the country and the 2015 Gatorade Player of the Year.
