BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The Downtown Development District (DDD) will honor Patriots on the North Boulevard Town Square Beacon in Baton Rouge.

Officials with DDD asked the public for photos of those who have served in the military, and will display the photos on the Beacon on July 4, 2015.

Independence Day in downtown Baton Rouge begins early at the USS Kidd with the July 4th Spectacular and ends with Fireworks on the Mississippi.

The deadline to submit photos for the Beacon is Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 5 p.m. However, WAFB will continue to gather photos of soldiers and display them in a slideshow. To submit your photo to WAFB, email them to 9reports@wafb.com. The email address to the DDD is ddd@brgov.com
