Baton Rouge neighborhoods facing outages as storm rolls through

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

 Multiple Entergy customers have reported outages across the Baton Rouge area, due to a thunderstorm rolling across the Capitol City.

Nearly 1,000 customers are out of power in a neighborhood off of Florida Boulevard and Airline Highway, near the Mall of Cortana. Entergy representatives say that they have a serviceman working to restore power to the neighborhood. The company estimates that customers should get power back at about 4:30 p.m.

Over 500 customers are out of power in a north Baton Rouge neighborhood off of I-110 from Scenic Highway and Evangeline Street to Calumet Street and Canonicus Street near Louisiana Technical College of Baton Rouge. Entergy estimates mark 4:00 p.m. as the time they should have power restored in that neighborhood.

Estimates put the storm passing in roughly 90 minutes, or at about 4:30 p.m.
