BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU announced Monday that defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao has been dismissed from the football team because of his recent arrest on allegations of hitting a woman outside a bar and robbing her unconscious boyfriend.
The 18-year-old San Antonio native was arrested and charged with simple robbery and simple battery earlier this month. On June 19, he was released from the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a $15,000 bond.
"Trey is no longer a member of our football team," head football coach Les Miles said. "We have gathered information on this incident and we feel it's best for us to part ways."
The redshirt freshman never played for LSU.
His brother back in San Antonio, Texas is considered to be a much bigger recruit. Lealaimatafao redshirted last year as a freshman after injuring himself punching through glass in the LSU weight room.
